Special Between the Oaks Service & Potluck
Come one, come all!
Sunday, September 13 @ 4:30pm
at FCCOWT - in the church yard between our baby oak trees
We are excited to kick off the next season of “Between the Oaks” services with an outdoor gathering on our front lawn, between our baby oak trees. This special service will focus on the blessing of living water and being a community of blessing for one another. We will be baptizing both children and adults and welcoming new members. Afterwards, we will enjoy a potluck meal together.
Anyone who would like to be baptized — all ages welcome — can reach out to Rev. Cathlin by email to schedule a time to talk. Likewise, anyone who is interested in joining the church can email Rev. Cathlin and schedule a meeting.
When we baptize and when we welcome new members, we are covenanting one with another to embark on a spiritual journey together, to support one another in our faith walk. This means we want people of all ages from our congregation to come, bear witness, and journey with one another. We are overjoyed to be re-gathering this way after a busy summer!

Serving from the Heart of the Island since 1673
Embracing God's gift of Jesus' life as our example, and the Holy Spirit as our guide, our mission is to be a church that attracts, welcomes, serves and supports all ages and all people, ever challenged to live in harmony and joy with greater faith, hope and love. We welcome and embrace with affirmation, all persons of every age, race, culture, marital status and family structure, sexual orientation, gender identity and expression, political affiliation, physical and mental ability, economic and social status and religious background, including non-believers and seekers.
extravagant welcome
Our extravagant welcome begins with a warm greeting at the front door, continues through a worship service that strives to be mindful of the first time visitor, the unchurched, and the vulnerable. Our extravagant welcome includes our commitment to being an Open and Affirming (ONA) church. We welcome people of all ages, abilities, race, ethnicity, gender orientation, sexuality, and faith backgrounds, including those with doubts and no faith at all.
Heartfelt Service
By allowing our hearts to be broken open by the suffering and struggles of our neighbors, near and far, we have discovered vast resources and strength for service, compassion, and social action. Like so many churches in the world, our passion is for feeding our community with wholesome food and love.
Spiritual nourishment
We recognize that people are hungry for spiritual wisdom and hungry for the opportunity to share their spiritual journeys with one another. Some people find their hunger is met through worship; others need more. We feed one another spiritually in a variety of ways, through Sunday worship services, our Sunday School program and through small groups.
